CCBA Member, Paul D. Edger, Esquire named to Central Penn Business Journal's Top 40 Under 40 September 30, 2019 The Central Penn Business Journal is proud to announce the winners of its 25th annual Forty Under 40 awards, which recognize up-and-coming leaders in Central Pennsylvania. The winners include attorneys and accountants, CEOs and a variety of other executives and leaders. They will be honored Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Hilton Harrisburg. Paul D. Edger, Esquire is the Managing Attorney of the Carlisle, Chambersburg, and Gettysburg offices of MidPenn Legal Services, managing all services provided in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Fulton counties. Mr. Edger earned a B.A. in Political Philosophy and Legal Studies from Elizabethtown College in 2008 and his J.D from Widener University School of Law in 2011. Mr. Edger concentrates his practice in the areas of domestic and sexual violence prevention, child custody, landlord/tenant, unemployment compensation, criminal expungements, and public benefits. Additionally, Mr. Edger is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Widener University Commonwealth Law School, where he teaches in the areas of family law, property, unemployment compensation, bankruptcy, and trial skills. Mr. Edger sits on numerous task forces and organizations specifically directed toward providing legal services to the public, as well as the prevention of domestic and sexual violence. Mr. Edger is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Cumberland County Bar Association, and Franklin County Bar Association. Mr. Edger currently serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Legal Services to the Public Committee, as well as the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Mr. Edger also serves as Co-Chair of the Cumberland County Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, and previously served for two years as Chair of the Cumberland County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Edger has held numerous leadership positions with the PBA Young Lawyer’s Division over the past five years, and currently serves as the Representative to the PBA House of Delegates. Mr. Edger has authored materials and lectured on numerous legal matters including expungement of criminal convictions, obtaining Protection from Abuse orders, family law, and trial techniques. Mr. Edger was awarded the George E. Hoffer Award by the Cumberland County Bar Association in 2018 for his service to youth in the local community. Additionally, in 2019 he was named a Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the field of “Legal Aid/Pro Bono,” a designation reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania. He is the first attorney named to Super Lawyer from MidPenn Legal Services and only the tenth ever in Pennsylvania to that field. He was also recently selected as “Top 40 Under 40” by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal for 2019. Mr. Edger also serves on the Board of Directors of Safe Harbour, a homeless shelter located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Mr. Edger currently resides in Carlisle with his wife Katelynn and two sons Connor and Aiden.
