About the Cumberland County Bar Foundation

The Cumberland County Bar Foundation was established in 1997 as a Pennsylvania Nonprofit 501(c)(3) entity. It will foster and maintain the honor and integrity of the legal system and will benefit the lawyers and the citizens of Cumberland County.

Cumberland County has benefited greatly over the years from the many dedicated and extremely talented attorneys serving the profession and their communities. The Cumberland County Bar Foundation will commit its efforts to programs and projects that will work toward fulfilling the Foundation's mission.


Our Mission


The mission of the Cumberland County Bar Foundation is to carry on and expand law-related charitable and educational services and to promote and foster public awareness and education of the law and the legal system.


Services Supported by the Cumberland County Bar Foundation


The Cumberland County Bar Foundation will support charitable organizations and programs which educate the public to the law as well as programs which will assist lawyers with their continuing education.

Programs which may receive benefits from the Cumberland County Bar Foundation include the following examples:

  • Lawyer Referral Service to assist those persons in search of legal services.
  • MidPenn Legal Services, Inc. to assist those with income restrictions in receiving legal aid.
  • Continuing Legal Education Programs to assist attorneys with maintaining the most up to date legal practices and to enhance their knowledge of the law.
  • "Adulting!?!" ( Formerly the Stepping Out Program) and VIP Program speakers bureau programs for students, civic organizations and senior citizens on legal topics related to their concerns.
  • You and the Law (Formerly the Partners Program) working with county high schools in presenting classes for students on marriage and divorce issues.                                                                                                         
  • Cumberland County Children & Youth Facility Dog Project - "Diego"  was trained by Susquehanna Service Dogs.  He assists abused, neglected and dependent children, their families and witnesses at office interviews or while at legal or court proceedings.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
  • Juvenile Justice  in Cumberland County/WITF Story -- Real Life-Real Issues -   In partnership with the Cumberland County Bar Association, the Cumberland County Bar Foundation and WITF produced a special series looking at the Juvenile Justice System with a focus on Cumberland County.   Click on below link:                                      CCBF Juvenile Justice Project
